This one and a half day course covers OSHA policies, procedures and standards, as well as general industry safety and health principles. Topics include scope and application of the OSHA general industry standards. Special emphasis is placed on those areas that are the most hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guide. OSHA 29 CFR 1910 sub-parts are explored along with pertinent record-keeping and program requirements.

DOT Regulations Part 382.603 requires that all person designated to supervise operators of commercial motor vehicles who hold CDL's receive at least 2 hours of training on alcohol misuse and controlled substance use. Supervisors should use this training to determine whether reasonable suspicion exists to require a driver to submit for testing.
