Charlie Moore is Catamount’s workplace violence and tactical training specialist

Catamount Consulting today announced that Charlie Moore has been named head of Tactical and Firearm Training, responsible for developing and delivering defensive tactics and firearm safety programs to Catamount Consulting clients across the country. Moore is based in Catamount?s Georgia office.

His more than 30 years of law enforcement experience, as well as the expertise he developed with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Marshals Service, will serve our clients very well.?

Moore?s law enforcement career began in 1982 as a police officer with the City of Glens Falls (N.Y.) Police Department. In 1990 he became a deputy U.S. Marshal, serving in a multitude of positions that included personal executive protection to Supreme Court Justices Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas. Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Moore was selected to become the very first deputy chief, Use of Force Training, for the Department of Homeland Security?s Transportation Security Administration, where he directed and designed training for the Federal Air Marshal (FAM) Service.

Today, Moore serves as a law enforcement training specialist for the Department of Homeland Security and senior police advisor to the U.S. Department of Justice International Criminal Investigator Training Assistance Program. He is also a highly sought presenter of civilian training seminars on topics that range from home and personal safety, concealed handgun carry tactics, active shooter threat resolution strategies, family self-defense, women?s assault prevention, improvised weapons training and kids jiu jitsu and bully safety and avoidance strategies.

Moore earned his bachelor?s degree in psychology and political science from the State University of New York at Cortland. He has participated in the U.S Marshals Service?s Deputy US Marshal Recruit Training Program and is a Gracie Law Enforcement Combatives Senior Instructor. He holds dozens of national and international training certifications and is a member of numerous industry associations, including?the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET), the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (I.C.I.S.F).
